Pound Cakes

You can not do better than a good pound cake! Unless you add strawberries and ice cream to it!

Many of you may remember when Yadkin Valley Magazine created the 52 Pounds Cookbook featuring a pound cake for every week of the year. We have just a few copies left we are selling for the magazine. We have them in the store or you can purchase thru the magazine.

At JTE Norman’s we carry Old School Brand Products and they feature a really good, easy to use mix. Here’s their recipe for a classic pound cake.

1 bag Pound Cake Mix

1 cup softened butter, 3 eaten eggs, 1/3 cup of milk.

Cream softened butter with mixer, add mix and beaten eggs, stir in milk. Mix well, about 5 minutes with mixer. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan and bake at 325 degrees F for approximately 50-55 minutes. Gently remove from oven. Let cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Yield 8 – 10 servings.
